![]() Volunteering is a great way to show gratitude for the blessings you have been given. There are opportunities for an ongoing commitment as well as volunteering at a one-day event. Others work to help a specific group - the elderly, people with disabilities, or those dealing with hunger. Many get their hands dirty by planting trees, clearing trails, beautifying our business districts, or assisting with park improvements. Some volunteers work with our youth - as a coach of sports team, a scout leader, in our schools, or in a religious youth group. Others see a need and start a new organization to address it. Many volunteers each year serve on boards, commissions, and committees with the Township, School District, or one of our many non-profit organizations. The Haverford Township Civic Council, which was established in the 1940's, continues to be a strong force in the community.
